I helped out with the SPD Pub Crawl yesterday. Such a great time! I took a group of students to visit the Fader and Conde Nast Portfolio where we were treated to a fantastic presentation by the ubiquitous Robert Priest. Amazing. I think the students really learned a lot and I would highly recommend any students joining in when the next Pub Crawl rolls around. Though this tour is generally geared towards graphic designers, I believe it certainly can't hurt for an aspiring illustrator to see what goes on behind the scenes!
